Welcome to the next episode of the TACA Podcast. We hope that you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving and you are enjoying the last days of November. We are thrilled to be with you this week and to bring you a wonderful and enlightening conversation with one of our favorite guests so far.
Before we get to the guest, a huge thank you to those who have subscribed and left a review over the last few weeks. This is a huge part of us reaching more families with these simple and helpful interviews that will hopefully spur them on in their journey. If you haven’t had the chance to go and leave a review you can right here on iTunes! This will ensure that you never miss an episode and help us help more families along the way.
Here is a recent review we are grateful for: “This podcast extends [TACA’s] reach to touch all families affected with ASD. Listen in and learn as TACA is there wherever you are on your journey.” -@JaceySmith
This episode we are honored to welcome Dr. Daniel Amen, M.D. as our guest. He graciously spent time with us a few weeks ago at the National TACA Autism Conference in California. Dr. Amen is a world renown psychiatrist who specializes in SPECT imaging. He has the largest database of SPECT scans spanning many years and many different illnesses. From patients with ADHD to TBI and even some wonderful work in the world of Autism. His approach to the work on the brain is unique and is helping to equip a new generation of practitioners to ensure that they understand that seeing what is going on in the brain is as important as any other organ of the body.
We were so encouraged by his kindness, the specific way he encouraged caregivers in this episode, and the way he made challenging concepts easy to grasp. We loved how Dr. Amen broke down the importance of removing toxins for brain health and encouraged us to focus on an abundance mindset instead of deprivation. He spoke with us about his new book that just released “The Brain Warriors Way” and we even spoke about his children’s book to encourage sleep “Time for Bed, Sleepyhead” (Who couldn’t use a little help with that?).
You are going to love all Dr. Amen shared and we hope that you find at least one takeaway that will benefit you and your family along your journey!
So grab a coffee, jump on the treadmill, or go for a walk outside and listen here!
We would also love if you share this with your friends
and family using the FaceBook and Twitter links at the bottom of this post!
