I promised to keep this topic going as people were cruel in using the words retard or autistic in a derogatory matter. This list now includes companies. Sadly, the TACA blog has featured this topic four times before (1.)
Sephora has launched a new lipstick brand with celebrity Kat Von D (2.) One of the lipstick colors is called “celebutard.”
It may seem petty or small but there are a few words in the English dictionary that we should not use. It is not about being politically correct. It is about being a bully, especially to the special needs population.
Ask Sephora to consider a new creative name. Let’s end the name calling and joke telling about special needs individuals once and for all.

UPDATE 11/8/2013
Sephora has pulled the lipstick from their product line. The inspiration behind the lipstick line and name still just doesn’t “quite” get it. Special thanks to Kim Stagliano for bringing this issue up and responding to the insensitive nature of a product name.

Oh. My. Goodness. I can’t believe a company as big as Sephora would do that.
horrible!!
Just sent a strongly worded email. Pathetic
Send a strong message by NOT BUYING their toxic products and buy from a respectable and non toxic company like Red Apple Lipstick. Big companies need their bottom line to be effected before they make changes so let’s effect their bottom lines!
I just received an email from sephora. They apologized if I was offended and said they are discontinuing the sale of that shade online and in stores!
Great news! I saw this article posted on 11/6/2013 about Sephora’s recall of “celebutard” lipstick. It would sure be nice if large corporations think product launches through before they create a controversy and hurt people.
