First, I want to thank Safe Minds and Beth Clay for leading the way to call for a DC Autism Congressional Hearing.  I wanted to make sure to let families know it is occurring and to please help.

We have two DC Hearing action items for families living with autism:

One:  send thanks Congressman Burton for holding the Autism DC Hearing

On Thursday, November 29th at 2:00 pm, The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform will hold a hearing regarding the federal response to autism over the past decade.

In closing, behind the scenes TACA has been working on the Autism DC Hearing and for pushing positive change for families living with autism. Safe Minds is leading the charge of this important effort. We applaud and thank them.

TACA has not been invited despite our efforts. We have submitted testimony to be part of the hearing. We applaud Burton’s efforts to address the autism epidemic and families urgent needs. We hope this hearing is one of many that is needed to address the 1 in 88 living with autism today. Families and their loved ones can no longer wait.
